Beautiful-that says it all to me. Seeing it online is awesome, but I want to see it in person. I can only imagine the texture it must have. I particularly love the perspective-my eye was drawn from right to left-going over the beauty of the Riathan before my eye was caught by the moonlight on the water up to the crescent moon. As I gaze upon the picture, I imagine the sound of the sea and the smell of the salt in the air.

Beautiful creatures, Riathans or not. I like the overall color scheme. Interesting placement and positioning of horns. I'd think it would take some effort to get that horn pointed at someone, compared to the 'usual' unicorn horn placement.

Ah, a pivotal scene coming…the bits and pieces are assembling and coming alive. Arithon fans, get ready. (dustbin readied for the sweepings as the fur flies…grin).
Now - the kick off needs a backdrop…so many times, I have the scene, the characters, the dialogue, but - what backdrop to use? What aspect of daily life, or departure from daily life, what "stage" to set the action on, and let it roll from there? It needs to mirror or contrast the mood…so goeth the mulling and stewing around until Just the right thing hops in to sparkle the set.
What picture snapshots of a character did you MOST want to look in on, to kick off a sequence of action…?
Sometimes research helps (authorial look back on the brain tanning of the deerhides, when Feithan was visited by Asandir…) sometimes the everyday domestic scene (Jieret's sisters, Dania and the bread dough after Arithon's arrival in Deshir)
Now, to try try try to ignore the perfect, breezy STUNNING day outside (ride LATER, promise)

unbelievable- i have read all the books so far ( except traitors knot which i am still reading) at least 4 times each and i CANNOT remember all the details. they are so intricate and interwoven- which is what makes the re reading so much fun! i'm pretty sure it was Vastmark though, when Dakar rudely woke Arithon.
