I only now started to read this series and from the first moment Arithon was introduced, I could only think of one person to play him in a movie.
…Cillian Murphy.
He's an incredibly good actor and especially adept at playing the cool, cold type (and psychotic guys, but that's beside the point). He also has very sharp eyes and I figure something like that could fit Arithon.

Aneurin Barnard for Arithon! Or possibly Aiden Turner?

When I read a book, the sound of a character's voice is as vital to me as the visual image of the character's person. That may be one reason that, when I read Arithon's dialogue, I hear Robert Carlyle's voice. A very distinctive voice, and yet there is not a trace of "Dudley Do-Right" superhero stentorian tones in his speech.
It is easy to list the ways in which Robert Carlyle does not fit Arithon visually: his eyes are brown rather than green; his hair is "sandy" brown rather than coal black, he really does not like to sing except as an absolute last resort…
but as an actor, he has got the chops for Arithon if anybody has; moreover, the "anti-hero" slight-figure image has been typecast into his film/TV career for years. Carlyle certainly has the fire for the role.

Replace Mickey Rauk with Ian McKellen as Kharadmon and place Mickey Rauk as Dakar.
Replace Jude Dench with Merrill Streep (better at authoritative roles) as Morriel.
Elaira - Milla Jovovich.
All the meathead actors can fill the roles of the s'Brydon brothers:
Arnold Swartzenegger, Jason Stratham, Dolf Lundgrren, Bruce Willis, Sylvester Stallone.
with Jude Dench as their Gran.
