Janny will have a new short story in Grimdark Magazine issue #46. The story features characters from her in-progress novel, Sailing the Whirlwind. The cover art on this issue (not by Janny) is based on a scene from her short story.
Do we know anything else about Sailing the Whirlwind?
The short story in Grimdark Magazine is RELEASED NOW, and the kick starter is LIVE for Unbroken - Last Man Standing and Front Man Fallen are short fiction snapshots of backstory for two of the characters from my in progress novel, on submission, Sailing the Whirlwind.
The novel: is a nautical fantasy involving the misfit crew of a topsail schooner that runs dispatches - as they fall into a picadillo way bigger than their seafaring experience could imagine. Fun, worldy, with a dash of raunchy humor and some very serious consequences and immense stakes that progress in repercussion - it is 80 pages in final form with a full outline. Wherever it lands, or doesn’t, I plan to finish it out, as it is such lively fun to write.
I am currently on third pass revisions of the manuscript for The Guardian, sequel to Verrain’s story in The Gallant - that will be finished first, with some other short fiction related to Athera in various states of assembly - stay tuned, I am always busy!
