Janny's books in Russian

originally posted by Scott Richard Perry

Janny, just wondering if there was any plans to translate the Wars of Light and Shadow into the Russian language. I was talking to my sister in law about them and she is keen to read, are there any plans for a translation?

Hi Scott Richard Perry - welcome here - Wars of Light and Shadow's early volumes are already translated into Russian, and also, the Cycle of Fire…she should be able to find them. The BOOKS menu on this site should show you the covers, and any information we currently have.

Thanks very much for the information Janny.

Hello: I looked in the BOOKS menu.
I can find covers and info in the BOOKS section for: the English,
and the French translation.
I can't find either the Russian volumes
or the ten (!) German translation volumes, which I had to go to Amazon dot DE to scare up.
Is this information on this site and I just am not doing a good job of finding it? Thanks.

Okay! Since another thread revealed that the Russian publisher is Eksmo, I went hunting online.
Don't know if this link will link, but:
Eksmo's one listing for Janny Wurts (the Cyrillic comes out to something like Djenni Vyrtz!) is:
Ships of Merior, in Russian. No listing for Curse of the Mistwraith.

I should think the German and Russian translations are long out of print now, maybe checking the local libraries you might find them. Here is some info on CotM. http://www.ozon.ru/context/detail/id/2430208/

I do not recall ever seeing any more than 2 books of the series in Russian, but there could have been more translated.

Janny might not approve, but if you look around you would be able to get an e-book version of both Russian translations to read, if the books cannot be obtained any other way. Not sure how complete the e-book versions are. The two hard covers would make a nice addition to the bookshelf, if you can find them.

A photo of the books, along with the Cycle of Fire series, so you can see the quality of the hard covers. https://63.img.avito.st/640x480/1709864263.jpg
