No need for a link. It took me approximately three minutes to locate the snippet. Very delicious indeed. Glad that the character in this snippet other than 'the bard' shall continue to be a presence in Stormed Fortress.

Speaking of stormed fortresses, it's snowing! In Portland. *happy snow dance!*

A bit of searching!

#@$%@#

Took a lot more than three minutes…but worth it.

However, I am nowhere near nerdy enough to know how to post a link.

And Janny, thanks for the Anniversary present.

Must be something that happens when one becomes a published author. <grin>

Uh, does anyone have a link for at least the newsgroup in question?

but first you'll have to promise me your firstborn child…

Here you go Blue …

(link removed) And as I said - it was posted on Oct. 10th.

I am actually going to be out of town for the next month, so I likely won't be stopping in (Unless very lucky)

Meanwhile, all the best of the season to all of you - and my good wishes that the coming year be full of creativity, laughter, friends, and loved ones.

Into Chapter 8 - which admittedly crawled thru all the delights of family and holiday celebrations. Now - quick!!! - before the inevitable slog thru tax stuff starts for year's end (No, New Years is not my favorite time of year! ) let's see if I can push it over the edge into the charged scene that's lying in wait for the setting scene to touch off…

I was going to post a new preview on Christmas Day for a Holiday present to you fans, but, well, I didn't get too-it.

So it'll be soon rather than lately.

The difficulty (read brain burn) is in FINDING any scene that doesn't open up too much of a spoiler!!!

This is a wrap sequence volume, and everthing on all fronts MOVES. (Wry shrug) Not much deadspace or developmental opening for anysort of teaser to tickle.

We really won't mind if you "spoiler" us, Janney!

Happy New Year to all!

 sorry - fat fingers

Happy New Year to all!

Main Chapter 8 is proceeding nicely - to two different Breton traditional bands…which could (hah!!!) maybe give you a clue. Or not!

And tonight, the nuisance that goes with success - TAXES. Ugly boring stuff, bare figures. Takes a big stick to make me dig into book keeping. Like the fridge is empty, there are NO movies, and I've read all the books… :0

Ok - whew - far along enough now, that I can really start posting STATUS.

Stormed Fortress's draft, today, main chapter eight's hit page 24 and the hot action begins! with a knock at the door…

Total page count of the drafted manuscript, (yaaaay!!!) cracked the 500 mark. Specifically, officially, 501.

THIS is the moment I've been waiting for…because the pileup now goes into avalanche…get a grip!!! Because the ride from here will be fast, hairy, and filled with hairpin twists. Oh boy…can our cast conspire to make a sled ride, or WHAT?

And Now - to take this smile to the rear desk, and bust up on the tax figures…hmmp.

Hi Janny

So… What does that mean in terms of possible publications dates? Not to rush you or anything!!!

Can't wait to read that chapter!

The UK Traitor's Knot was about 500 pages when finished I think.

Are you sure you're going to be able to squeeze everything into this volume to complete this arc of the story Janny?

And does this mean that we are going to be treated to a gorgeous epic (1000+ pages suits me fine, all the more to enjoy).

Don't leave us hanging on the cliff again please Janny!!! I don't think that my poor heart could take it.

nathan,

It's worth point out that Janny is counting 'manuscript' pages… not final book pages which because of page size, font size, line spacing, etc. is usually smaller.

If you look at the sample manuscript page under "Author's notes / tips for …", you'll see that manuscript pages look like they're double spaced… so editors can make their suggestions… so when typeset properly this will reduce page count…

Without having looked, I'm sure in the TK topic somewhere is what the final manuscript page count was for TK… and possibly for PG… that's probably a better guide.
